The second edition of the Luxembourg Venture Days will gather investors, startups and scaleup on 16 and 17 October 2024 at Luxexpo The Box under the umbrella of Startup Luxembourg, the country’s brand to promote its startup ecosystem.

During the last years, Luxembourg has built a robust, diversified and thriving economy and hosts around 550 startups and 15 incubators, accelerators and innovation hubs. The country also boasts one of the most dynamic networks of business angels in Europe, with a growing number of locally managed venture capital funds.

At the European level, the growing number of unicorns shows the progress that the European startup ecosystem has made over the past years.

Matchmaking platforms and networks that connect startups, scaleups and investors are key to maintain and further accelerate this momentum.

Connecting and exploring new partnerships and investments

Luxembourg’s strategic location within a ‘Greater Region’ with 12 million residents, its agility and accessibility, coupled with its business-friendly climate, a pragmatic approach, and an easy access to key decision-makers, make it the perfect international business hub to stimulate the interaction between investors and entrepreneurs.

The Luxembourg Venture Days 2024 is organised by Luxembourg’s innovation agency Luxinnovation and the Luxembourg Private Equity and VC Association (LPEA), the most trusted and relevant representative body of private equity and venture capital practitioners with a presence in the country.

“We are proud to join forces with these main actors to develop our new win-win event formula and foster Luxembourg’s role as a vibrant ecosystem, home and hub for startups and investors.” says Sasha Baillie, CEO of Luxinnovation. “This event invites entrepreneurs and investors to participate in shaping a vibrant ecosystem that unlocks investments, inspires innovation, and fosters sustainable growth.”

“Luxembourg is known to host some of the biggest private equity practitioners next to a growing number of VCs. The partnership with Luxinnovation will put this specific community on the spotlight as key players of our ecosystem,” adds Stephane Pesch, CEO of LPEA.

Rich programme

The conference will unfold over the course of two days, 16 and 17 October 2024, in Luxembourg uniquely combining several flagship events of the country’s and the international investor and startup landscapes: Luxinnovation’s Fit 4 Start pitching sessions; LPEA’s annual Insights conference and various pitch and matchmaking sessions by Luxembourg-based accelerators and incubators, including gener8tor, Tomorrow Street, as well as the Luxembourg Business Angel Network (LBAN).

The Luxembourg Venture Days will feature panels, keynotes, and sessions on a range of topics such as “Silicon Valley insight”, “Navigating term sheet negotiations with investors”, “The perfect pitch”, “Autonomous driving & supply chains”, “Corporate challenges, startup solutions”, “The benefits of investing in women-led startups”, and “How business angels add value to founders”. The closing ceremony, in the presence of H.R.H the Hereditary Grand Duke, Prince Guillaume, and the Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, will conclude with keynotes, round tables and the announcement of the 20 startups selected for Luxinnovation’s Fit 4 Start programme.
