A special report by Financial Times and Statista designated the Fit 4 Start program and the Luxembourg City Incubator as one of Europe’s Leading Startup Hubs for 2024. Among 125 selected hubs, they ranked 80th and 101st respectively.

The selection process involved rigorous evaluation, including public calls for participation, alumni and peer surveys, along with comprehensive desk research. The recognition in this prestigious report underscores the Fit 4 Start program and Luxembourg-City Incubator’s stature in the European startup landscape.

“We are thrilled and honored to be acknowledged by the Financial Times and Statista as one of Europe’s Leading Startup Hubs for 2024,” remarked Bastien Berg, CEO of the Luxembourg-City Incubator. “This recognition reaffirms our steadfast commitment to fostering a supportive and innovative environment for the sustainable growth of startups,” added Sven Baltes, manager of startup relations at Luxinnovation.

The methodology employed for identifying the leading startup hubs centered on three key criteria. Firstly, alumni feedback from participants in programs offered by the respective hubs played a pivotal role. Secondly, recommendations from external experts, including investors, business angels, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and academics, were considered. These insights emphasized broader industry recognition and support for both entities. Additionally, the report examined the success stories originating from each hub, further validating their impact on the entrepreneurial scene.

Launched by the Ministry of the Economy and managed by Luxinnovation in collaboration with Technoport, the Luxembourg Space Agency, the Luxembourg City Incubator, the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology, and LuxProvide, the Fit 4 Start program empowers innovative young companies to launch from Luxembourg, transforming visionary ideas into high-growth potential enterprises. Initially targeting ICT sector startups, Fit 4 Start now extends its support to companies in health technologies and the space sector.

Sponsored by the City of Luxembourg and powered by the Chamber of Commerce, the Luxembourg-City Incubator (LCI) is a dynamic startup incubator committed to nurturing innovation and fostering emerging startup growth. Providing essential resources, personalized support programs, inspiring workspaces, mentorship, and a collaborative environment, LCI empowers entrepreneurs on their journey to success.
