UK-based clean energy procurement platform Renewabl has raised a multi-million seed round led by Finland’s Helen Ventures and backed by the likes of Encevo Group and Toyota Ventures.

As ESG regulations become more stringent, businesses are struggling to easily match clean energy production to their specific consumption needs. Renewabl’s platform addresses this need by allowing corporate end-users to trace renewable energy to its source of generation, optimise corporate portfolios and highlight the most impactful clean energy product available.

Led by Finland’s Helen Ventures, Renewabl’s multi-million seed round was also backed by a six-figure investment from Luxembourg’s Encevo Group

“Our Venture Capital unit has started to assemble and continues to scout for a comprehensive set of solutions helping our business to build flexible, efficient, and ultimately shorter bridges between our consumers and green power generation sources. Renewabl rightly sits in that picture, providing important middle-link, pivotal capabilities, and we are thrilled to explore how to blend best with our in-house skillsets,” articulated Nicolas Milerioux, head of venture capital at Encevo.

Encevo will keep a close eye on the company’s developments in the next 12 months, eventually planning “to spillover from the experience and technology of Renewabl to [their] business,” explains Nicolas.

In the meantime, the startup aims to deepen its tech solution and expand its offering to Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
